As you may have noticed, it's been almost a year since our last blog post..... Sorry about that! We have been so busy with developing our school further that we almost forgot to keep you in the loop! To make up for our absence we have selected a few photos from our key moments over the last year to put together on this blog post for you. So let's take a look!
Our students have all been working hard to develop their skills in all aspects of training. Some of our students have now begun sparring, using techniques already taught to them under close supervision to improve their accuracy and skill whilst also keeping them safe. Other students have now reached the level where they are using Escrima sticks; working basic blocks, strikes and disarms. Some students have even taken up our optional extra class, training correct sword techniques in a safe environment.
Gradings galore! All of our students have graded at least once in the past year, and we have even had new students join us in that time too. The last time we posted on our blog; our highest level students had just received their yellow belts, these students are now green belts and are currently training hard to learn everything they need to know to go for their blue belt grading in a few weeks time.
Finally, two very important gradings took place this year, those were the gradings of Master Jamie Hubbard who achieved his 4th Dan; and Sensei Emma Hore who achieved her 2nd Dan. We are very thankful to Master Peter Maher who not only guided us through our martial arts journeys but also graded Emma and was graded himself alongside Jamie, achieving his 5th Dan. Every grading is special and important to every martial artist as it shows your progress and determination throughout your journey. Each Dan grade can take years to achieve with a lot of hard work and constant dedication to your training, therefore achieving these grades truly means a great deal to us. Thank you to all of you for your continued support, and congratulations.
